John and Lisa Shelton own Insight Consulting Services, Incorporated. Lisa oversees the day-to-day operations as President of the company while John holds the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Lisa Shelton began working with senior living properties in 1986. She was on the Board of Directors and worked as an Assistant Vice President of Operations for Health Resources, Inc. overseeing up to nineteen senior living properties and a home care company with three locations. In her capacity at Health Resources, Lisa was responsible for much of the day-to-day oversight of the retirement, residential care, assisted living, Boarding Home and Long Term Care properties in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Arkansas. In the fourteen years with the company, Lisa had responsibilities in the areas of human resources, policy development and implementation, regulatory compliance, management training, program development, customer relations and budget development and compliance.
Lisa also spent over two years with a nationwide company as a Divisional Manager seeing operations grow from approximately 35 properties to over 100. She had direct supervision of regional managers and over 30 properties. Lisa was involved with 4 acquisitions and 11 new developments that required her going through Washington Boarding Home licensing. Responsibilities included development of census and marketing strategies and plans, reporting directly to property investors, regulatory compliance, expense management, Performa development, review and implementation, Boarding Home, Assisted living and residential care facility licensing and/or State contracts and defining and introducing corporate policies.
Lisa’s experiences have allowed her to broaden Insights client base to include other industries (besides senior living) including the public relations/marketing industry. In that industry, Lisa has assisted with organizational structure, development of policies and procedures, and job descriptions. These skills can benefit any industry.
In addition to holding a Bachelors degree from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon, Lisa also has training from Barran Liebman LLP (Portland law firm), Oregon Health Care Association, Washington Health Care Association, Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (including Violence in the Workplace, Conflict Management, Legal Hiring Practices, Documentation, Discipline and Discharge, Advanced EEO Law, Employee Investigations, Legislative Update, etc.), Low Income Tax Credit Compliance Training, Immigration and Naturalization, Liberty Northwest Insurance, Oregon OSHA, REPS and ServiceTrac.
Insight Consulting Services, Incorporated also offers the experience of Dina S. Russell, Licensing Application Consultant. Dina was involved with assisting Lisa Shelton in licensing 11 Washington properties and attaining at least 4 Oregon “flat rate contracts” for residential care properties serving Medicaid clients. She has additional experience and education related to banking, real estate sales, planning and development, human resources and document production.
